The first time I met the Senator was at a fundrasier for a congressional candidate whose campaign I was volunteering for. It was just before the ‘00 general election and I was still devastated that he had lost the GOP nomination.
A nerdy 20 year old still enamored by politicians, I felt compelled to tell him how much I admired him and that I was ready to work till I bled yet again the next time he ran for president. He was very gracious, posed for a photo, and gave a “well, we’ll see about that.”
I got to meet him again 5 years later and he is still the same gracious, sincere and good humored man he was then. I remain still willing to work until I bleed for this man. There are few admirable people in politics, John McCain is one of them. McCain ‘08!

The queen of portraying strong women, she most certainly must be one herself.
